2017-09-20

The School of Marxism grew out of the former Politics Teaching and Research Group. The group was set up in 1952 when IMNU was founded.

On Nov 24, 2006, the School of Marxism was established to become the first school dedicated to Marxism in the region. It consists of six teaching sections: Sinicization of Marxism, Basic Principle of Marxism, Essentials of Modern History of China, Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Legal Basis, Ethnic Theory, and International Issues.

The school provides six courses for undergraduate students: Basic Principle of Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought and Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Essentials of Modern History of China, Ideological and Moral Cultivation and Legal Basis, Ethnic Theory and Policy and Situation and Policy.

In 1996, the school was authorized to enroll graduate students. Now it has three sub-disciplines for master's degrees -- Basic Principles of Marxism, Research of Basic Issues on the Modern History of China, and Marxist Ethnic Theory and Policy.
