I. Discipline development

Undergraduate education at the school combines large class teaching, small class tutoring and students' autonomous learning, with online courses undergoing an active reform. In August 2005, the College English course offered by the college made the autonomous region's list of high-quality courses. In May 2007, the school became Inner Mongolia's only demonstration college under a national pilot program on College English education reform. In September 2007, it was honored as an advanced institution in Inner Mongolia's education system.

II. Education and research achievements

Since 2005, teachers at the school have published 268 academic articles on education, including 122 on education reform. They led 90 education research programs at various levels -- one national, eight provincial and 81 at government department or bureau levels, the last group winning 24 awards.

III. College English textbooks

The school has made great achievements in the development of textbooks for College English foundation courses. It has compiled 13 textbooks published by the Higher Education Press, the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, China Renmin University Press, Beijing Normal University Publishing Group, and the Minzu University of China Press.

IV. Master's program

In 2008, the school launched M.Ed. programs in English Education. As of 2015, it had enrolled 246 M.Ed. students in English Education, with 155 having successfully obtained the degree.

V. Adult education

After the school was launched, it began to take responsibility for the last stages of training of undergraduate students enrolled in correspondence education programs. From 2008 to 2015, it trained 191 undergraduate students in six sessions of the programs. So far, a total of 138 students have graduated after finishing their studies.

VI. Student activities

The school organizes lectures by foreign teachers, and holds English cultural festivals that include speech, singing and calligraphy contests, dramas, quizzes, and evening galas. In addition to annual events such as the "FLTRP Cup" English Public Speaking Contest and reading and writing contests, the school has also organized quizzes on English-speaking countries and hosted a presenter contest so that students can put what they have learned into practice.
