The gymnasium of Inner Mongolia Normal University began operations at the end of 2003. The gymnasium covers an area of 11,800 square meters and houses a basketball hall, gym, martial arts hall, table tennis hall, fitness room, multimedia lecture hall, laboratory VIP rooms and conference rooms.

The gymnasium has always enjoyed support from the university's teachers and students as well as social groups, and has played an important role in the university's teaching, training, competitions, large-scale activities and social sports.

Important sports events held in the gymnasium include the China Table Tennis Club Super League, the National College Students' Chinese-style Wrestling Championship and the National Table Tennis Championship for College Students. It serves as the university's sports and cultural activities base, playing a positive role in publicizing the university.

Based on advanced management ideas, scientific operational procedures and excellent service quality, the gymnasium will continue to serve the university in a myriad of ways, building the physical and social character of teachers and students.
