Taihu Performing Arts City at Taihu Lake Longemont Paradise — a resort centered on large‑scale offerings in Huzhou, Zhejiang province — registered more than 1 million visits in August, with countertrend growth amid typhoons and persistent rain.
Longemont sets itself apart by centering on performing‑arts content rather than scenic views. Its landmark outdoor spectacular Xi Shi: A Timeless Beauty and immersive interactive programs offer visitors cultural experiences beyond conventional sightseeing.
The resort has nine professional indoor theaters presenting dance, magic, ice shows, children's theater, and other productions, alongside a rotating program of outdoor performances. An underground passage connects hotels with the performing arts complex, allowing guests to move between them without exposure to the weather.
Regular evening fireworks encourage visitors to stay as they wander the themed streets, with mist cooling systems, covered walkways, and seating areas also improving comfort during hot or rainy weather.
The resort has focused on regularly updating its performances, improving visitor experiences, and developing facilities that allow programs to continue in different weather conditions.
