A new highway connecting Alshaa League and Hohhot in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has been completed, with the Bayinhuduge to Bayankhot section of the G1817 Highway passing its final inspection.
The highway spans 86.5 kilometers and was built with a total investment of 3.15 billion yuan ($445 million). Built to a four-lane expressway standard, it begins at the Bayinhuduge toll station and connects to the existing Wuyin Highway. The route passes through Zongbieli, Qiewutu, and Murengaole before reaching the northern interchange at Bayankhot.
This project marks a significant achievement in establishing a direct expressway link between Alshaa League and Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region. As part of the Western Land-Sea New Corridor, the highway will greatly improve regional transportation, facilitate resource development, boost tourism, and promote balanced economic growth along its route.
