Hohhot reports tourism revenue of $606m during Spring Festival

During the Spring Festival holiday, Hohhot has welcomed a total of 4.08 million tourists, representing a remarkable 252.29-percent year-on-year increase based on comparable data from 2023.
The city also achieved a domestic tourism income of 4.36 billion yuan ($606 million) during this holiday period, marking a staggering 697.87-percent year-on-year growth and contributing 19.72 percent to the region's total income.
This year's Spring Festival in Hohhot showcased a vibrant array of cultural and tourism activities. The city's "Intangible Cultural Heritage Market", in particular, offered a rich and diverse array of content.
Tourists got to enjoy Naobao village's Spring Festival activities, Monishan's Chinese New Year activities, as well as extravagant displays of intangible cultural heritage. Other festivities included ancient folk performances, vivid clay sculpture demonstrations, and Han and Tang Dynasty-themed performances.
Hohhot also organized a wide range of exciting ice and snow events during the holiday. Visitors and locals alike enjoyed activities such as admiring ice sculptures, ice skating, penguin races, and interacting with alpacas.
