Hohhot and Baotou jointly signed an agreement to accelerate their integrated development on Dec 27, promoting regional cooperation.
Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and Baotou, an industrial powerhouse in the region, are located near each other and share the Yinshan Mountains. With their geographical proximity, cultural affinity, economic integration, and complementary resources, the two cities possess immense potential.
The high-grade provincial highways, including Provincial Road 311, Provincial Road 104, and Provincial Road 315, will be further developed and upgraded to connect the two cities. Intercity buses and customized transportation will also be made available in the surrounding urban areas and neighboring counties, allowing the use of a single card for several public transportation modes, such as the metro and intercity buses.
