Industrial economy in Hohhot continues to show positive growth trend

The industrial economy in Hohhot, North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has shown a sustained positive growth trend this year, with the industrial enterprises above a designated scale maintaining strong growth momentum.

From January to November, there was a 23.5 percent year-on-year increase in the value added by industrial enterprises above a specified scale within the city. This marks a 0.4 percentage point upswing when compared to the period spanning January to October. This growth rate outpaced the regional average by 16.1 percentage points, securing the first position within the autonomous region. Furthermore, it surpassed the national average by 19.2 percentage points.

The value added to the manufacturing industry accounted for nearly 80 percent of the total in the city, with a year-on-year growth of 20.3 percent. This contributed to a 16.3 percentage point increase in the growth rate of industrial enterprises above the designated size in the city and accounted for 69.2 percent of the total value added. The manufacturing industry serves as the driving force behind the rapid growth of the city's industrial economy.

From January to November, there were 250 small and micro-sized industrial enterprises above the designated size in the city, with a year-on-year increase in value added of 31.8 percent. This growth rate exceeded the growth rate of industrial enterprises above the designated size in the city by 8.3 percentage points, contributing 4.9 percentage points to the growth of industrial value added.

In addition, there were 234 private industrial enterprises above the designated size in the city, with a year-on-year increase of 19.6 percent, contributing 7.4 percentage points to the growth of industrial value added in the city.
