Major projects under construction in Hohhot, the capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, are progressing smoothly, according to the Inner Mongolia Daily.
Construction of the city's new airport is accelerating while ensuring safety and quality standards. The building work is now focused on the underground tunnel, comprehensive pipeline corridor, cement concrete pavement, pre-embedded navigation lights and auxiliary building.
Based on the interim greening conducted in 2022, Xinhua Square has completed all of its ground landscape greening according to the design plan.
The design of the underground second-floor parking lot includes 645 spaces. During the May Day holiday, the lot started trial operation, with 400 spaces available.
Meanwhile, engineering work on the structure of Hohhot Metro Line 2 Nuomule Station Exit A has now been fully completed and progressed to the pedestrian recovery phase, with the ground paving and ceiling due to be completed next.
The first "rail transit + new energy" project invested in and constructed by Hohhot Transportation Group New Energy Co has also been successfully connected to the power grid. This ranks as the distributed photovoltaic power generation project for the three-room car depot at Hohhot Urban Rail Transit Line 1.
