Hohhot reports better business environment in 2022
Hohhot city, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, recorded an improvement in its business environment in 2022, with 43 measures to stabilize the economy introduced, according to local media reports.
The city ranked second in the 2022 assessment of the autonomous region's business environment.
Last year, Hohhot introduced a series of policies and measures to promote high-quality industrial development, financial support for the real economy and active expansion of domestic demand. Its annual tax rebates and fee reductions topped 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion).
Throughout the year, 20 small and micro-sized enterprise entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration bases were added, including two national-level demonstration bases and 1,506 businesses that settled there.
It rolled out 25 public service demonstration platforms for small and medium-sized enterprises, including four national demonstration platforms, providing services for 16,000 enterprises.
In 2022, the city helped set up and registered 29,050 business entities through the entire online process, reducing the time for starting a company to half a working day. During the year, there were 347,963 business entities of various types in the city – ranging from single traders to large companies – a year-on-year increase of 15.9 percent.
The municipal market supervision bureau held 65 research seminars on optimizing the business environment, focusing on resolving 509 problems encountered by 1,160 companies in the production and operations process.
