Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has been promoting regional development, with steps taken in six major industrial clusters – dairy, biomedicine, photovoltaics, digital economy, modern logistics, and cultural tourism – according to local media reports.
In 2021, a three-year action plan for the "six major industrial clusters" was launched, and a series of relevant policies were formulated to help the rapid development of these industries.
On May 25, the high-quality economic development conference held in Hohhot emphasized the need to focus on building four advantageous industries: dairy, silicon materials, biomedicine, and big data.
The dairy industry is one of the city's most competitive industries. Hohhot will promote the downstream expansion of the industrial chain, boost the value chain to a mid-to-high level, and promote the development of two dairy industry projects: Yili Future Intelligence and Health Valley, and Mengniu Dairy Industrial Park.

The Yili Global Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park – part of Yili Future Intelligence and Health Valley – officially started operations on July 12 in Hohhot.
This is the latest in key projects for Yili Future Intelligence and Health Valley that have now been completed and begun operations. They include an intelligent manufacturing plant for milk, an intelligent manufacturing plant for powdered milk, the Chilechuan intelligent ecological ranch, and the Yili intelligent manufacturing experience center.
The country's only national dairy technology innovation center has settled in the valley.
By 2025, the operating income of Yili and Mengniu is expected to reach more than 300 billion yuan ($43 billion), and the sales revenue of the entire dairy industry chain is expected to reach more than 350 billion yuan.
