Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, will develop 15-minute community living circles after being selected as one of the national pilots by the Ministry of Commerce on July 19.
The Ministry of Commerce proposed the building of community business circles located within a 15-minute walk from the homes of residents last year.
Hohhot plans to develop 10 such living circles this year, and by 2026 more than 90 percent of the communities in the urban built-up area are expected to be included in the service area of the living circles.
After the living circles are completed, it will take only about 15 minutes by foot for residents to reach convenience stores, vegetable markets, cafes and small bookstores, making life more convenient.
