Hohhot records holiday tourism revenue of 188m yuan

Hohhot city, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, recently recorded a solid performance by its tourism industry, which generated Dragon Boat Festival holiday revenue of 188 million yuan ($28.28 million), according to local media reports.

Over the three-day break on June 3-5, tourists made 395,600 trips to the city.

On June 4 alone, visitors made 134,753 trips to Hohhot and the city generated tourism income of 74.53 million yuan.

Most tourists coming to the city chose short tours in the local area, with stops at major tourist attractions including Daqing Mountain and Dazhao Temple.

Tourists from Hohhot, Bayannuur and Ulaanqab cities accounted for 92.31 percent of the total flow of tourists.

To maintain a safe and orderly environment for tourists, the city strengthened its novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control measures.

It introduced extra security patrols and inspections at key tourist attractions, with special arrangements in place to ensure that adequate numbers of officials were on duty to handle any complaints over the break.
