The Jinqiao Innovation and Entrepreneurship Demonstration Zone – located in Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – is pushing to develop itself as a talent hub, according to local media reports.
The demonstration zone was previously known as the Jinqiao E-commerce Industrial Park.
From its establishment in July 2016 to December 2021, it has incubated an estimated 500 companies, directly helping more than 2,300 people find employment. A total of 13,525 people have been trained to date through its school-enterprise vocational programs.
In order to attract more talents to boost the innovative development of Hohhot city, during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), the area will further develop its demonstration capabilities and establish three parks and new eight service systems.
Three major parks – namely the Xingzhi Incubation Park, the Huizhi Pioneering Park and the Digital Intelligence Industrial Park – will be set up in the demonstration area. They will have support services for government affairs and business affairs – as well as for residential apartments and finance, among other things.
In terms of its hardware construction, the planned construction area of the first phase of the demonstration zone will have a floor space of about 100,000 square meters.
By leveraging the three parks, Hohhot is expected to develop a livable and eco-friendly environment that integrates residential and office functionality. The facilities will include a live online broadcast base, a training center and a promotion and exhibition hall, as well as multimedia conference rooms. In addition, there will be staff member apartments, supermarket chains, gyms, restaurants, banks, logistics centers and parking lots.
In terms of software incubation, the demonstration zone has signed strategic partnerships with 13 local universities, including Inner Mongolia Agricultural University and Inner Mongolia Normal University.
A multi-level and all-round talent service system has been built through measures such as entrepreneurship guidance for college students, the construction of industry-university-research platforms, employment training and high-quality project roadshows.
