Chinese dairy industry giant Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group, or Yili Group on March 1 donated 1.5 million yuan ($237,600) in cash and also products worth 1.5 million yuan to Qingshuihe county – administered by Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region – to help it fight COVID-19.

As a leader of China's dairy industry, it is widely viewed that Yili has always responded promptly when major incidents occur and that it shoulders its social responsibilities.

As a local enterprise that grew up in Hohhot and went global, Yili has continued to expand and has been ranked first in the Asian dairy industry for eight consecutive years and rated among the top five in the global dairy industry.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Yili Group has acted quickly in times of crisis to lend a helping hand to its hometown.

In 2020, some 60 million yuan was donated to the China Red Cross Foundation alone, to support epidemic prevention and controls in Inner Mongolia and Hohhot.

To date, Yili Group has donated a total of 380 million yuan to the country's fight against the epidemic.
