Hohhot, capital city of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, ranked 68th among domestic cities for digital transformation, according to the Competitiveness of Digital Transformation of Chinese Cities in 2021 report released on Nov 19.

The list of the top 100 cities for digital transformation in 2021 was drawn up by CCID Consulting through data collection, analysis and research.

CCID Consulting conducted a comprehensive assessment of the digital transformation capabilities of urban areas using six indicators: information foundation, urban governance, social services, industrial economy, innovation guarantee, and low-carbon development.

Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hangzhou took the first five places on the list.

Hohhot has been making significant strides in developing smart city technologies, with the Hohhot City Brain Smart City Management System now officially online, boosting the efficiency and convenience of city management.

The system helps the city manage its overall appearance, sanitation and other urban management issues, and is helping to implement the city's urban refinement and intelligence goals.

The Hohhot City Brain was officially launched on Jan 20, becoming the first city-level city brain in the autonomous region.

It is composed of a city brain intelligence center and four basic support systems: perception, data, security, and the Aiqingcheng app, as well as various applications generated from it.
