The Yili Food Packaging Industrial Design Center was included in the list of national industrial design centers released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on Nov 24.

The national industrial design center is the backbone of China's design innovation and is at the forefront of the country's industrial design development trends.

Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co, one of China's dairy industry giants, based in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is the only domestic dairy company that has won the honor.

Since its establishment in 2014, the Yili Food Packaging Industrial Design Center has gradually explored the service model of "consumer demand design - food nutrition design - product development - packaging design" to enhance the packaging safety level of the dairy industry while effectively improving the consumer experience.

Yiran milk mineral light drink, a dairy beverage brand launched by Yili in 2019, has won seven international package design awards, including the 2019 Red Dot Design Award and 2019 Pentawards Gold Award.

In the three years from 2018 to 2020, Yili Food Packaging Industrial Design Center declared 537 patents and has 512 patents authorized, and more than 80 percent of its sci-tech achievements were commercialized.
