Wang Yang, president of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) also attended the assembly, in which individuals in the private sector economy that contributed to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic were honored and celebrated.

The renowned title is a reminder for what Pan and his giant team at Yili Group had done to combat COVID-19. Yili was the first enterprise in the domestic dairy industry to give a helping hand to China, sending tons of milk and other nutritious products to medical staff members and patients in Huoshenshan Hospital in Wuhan, Hebei province. Yili also contributed 10 million yuan ($1,500,000) for the construction of the hospital.

Led by Pan Gang, Yili also acted swiftly towards the nationwide lockdown, caused by the high infection rate of the disease. The company accelerated its work and production resumption by coordinating with enterprises in both upstream and downstream sectors to ensure people's access to milk.

Yili also helped its upper firms to resume operation by delivering online and offline technological assistance, financing up to 67.62 billion yuan for its 7,198 partner businesses and protecting their workers with a large amount of medical supplies.

With the philosophy that "nobody can be an isolated island", Pan his team actively engaged themselves in humanitarian initiatives around the globe. Many countries like Iraq and Indonesia have received Yili's generous donation of its milk products and other medical supplies.
