Ten batches of novel coronavirus pneumonia prevention and control supplies purchased by dairy giant Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co -- Yili Group -- through global procurement were donated to the Inner Mongolia Red Cross Society on March 12.

The donated prevention and control materials included 533,783 face masks, 137.2 tons of ethyl alcohol and 281,500 pairs of medical gloves, 12,910 pairs of medical rubber boots, 55 tons of disinfectant, 1,000 goggles, 15,357 protective clothing and 7,200 bottles of antibacterial hand sanitizer.

Responding to the outbreak, Yili Group immediately launched a prevention and control plan.

On the basis of ensuring product quality, production safety and employee safety, Yili quickly accessed its global supply chain, mobilizing global suppliers' resources to purchase epidemic prevention and control materials, as well as moving to fully support front-line medical workers.

In a further response to the epidemic, Yili launched a prevention and control plan and invested 100 million yuan ($14.28 million) to fight the coronavirus.

A total of 60 million yuan was donated to the Red Cross Society of China to support the development of epidemic prevention and control work in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and in its capital city, Hohhot.

The fund will be used for purchase of medical equipment and the expansion of the scale of medical operations against the virus.

As a leader in the Chinese dairy industry, Yili has actively donated money and materials since the outbreak.

Officials said to date, it has delivered some 1.5 million cartons of products to hospitals, disease control centers and clinics.

The products have also been shipped to isolated observation points and public security traffic police departments in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities across China.
