Yili to build world’s first dairy industry ecosystem
Dairy giant Yili, the market leader in northern China, launched the world’s first dairy industry ecosystem --- Yili Future Intelligent and Health Valley --- on Nov 10 in Hohhot, capital city of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to officials.
A strategic cooperation agreement was signed between Yili and its global business partners at the launch ceremony.
According to the agreement, Yili will turn the valley into a demonstration zone for the regional health industry with the help of all the companies involved in the Yili industrial chain.
The dairy giant is expected to contribute 240 billion yuan ($34.27 billion) to the regional economy and provide nearly 60,000 jobs for the local employment market in the future, officials said.
Pan Gang, president of Yili Group, told the opening ceremony that as a leading national dairy group with roots in Inner Mongolia, Yili Group had, in recent years, adhered to two development strategies -- innovation and internationalization -- and had expanded to become an internationally renowned enterprise in Asia.
Yili Group, together with its global partners, plans to build Yili Modern Smart Health Valley, which is expected to become a world-class dairy industry complex -- integrating intelligent manufacturing, technological innovation, industrial tourism and commercial support, the Yili chief said.
The project is a solid step in Yili’s promotion of the whole dairy industrial chain, and demonstration of high-quality development in the region, Pan added. He pledged to play an important role in promoting the international competitiveness and influence of Inner Mongolia and the country's dairy industry.
Ai Lihua, vice chairwoman of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, told the ceremony she hoped Yili would thoroughly integrate and utilize international, high-quality resources to build and develop the project.
“The Hohhot government should attach more prominent and strategic importance to the development of the dairy industry and provide a first-class business environment and government services for dairy projects,” she said.
“The whole production process, industrial chain and all the business elements will be fully supported by the government.”
To give full play to Inner Mongolia’s regional advantages and promote its high-quality development, the government has proposed a dairy industry development strategy and initiated a series of policies and measures to comprehensively upgrade the local dairy industry, officials said.
The Inner Mongolia government will continue to add fuel to the development of local dairy industry and jointly promote the Yili project to yield results, they added.
