Hohhot in Inner Mongolia autonomous region generated 290.35 billion yuan ($43.19 billion) in GDP last year, an increase of 3.9 percent year on year, according to recently released statistics.

Xincheng district topped the city in GDP, with the number reaching 73.71 billion yuan, accounting for 25.3 percent of the total.

Saihan district and Huimin district ranked second and third in GDP gross, while Qingshuihe county and Tumd Left Banner were second and third in GDP growth.
