Mengshu Eco-scientific Park, situated at Shengle Economic Park in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region is the first park constructed under the theme of ecology and science.

Since its establishment in 2011, the park has worked on ecological restoration and afforestation, offering comprehensive solutions for the city’s ecological construction and environmental improvement.

Recognized as a demonstrative base for science promotion and seedling cultivation, it is also a place for sightseeing and vacations.

It includes areas for research, plants exhibition and interaction. Visitors can learn the forestry and practices of carbon sink, which will improve their awareness of protecting the environment.

According to the park, the nursery gardens for valuable tree species have reached to 400 mu and the park plans to expand 100 mu in its nursery gardens by 2020.

As of now, the park has planted over 90,000 trees, playing an important role in protecting the biodiversity in the area.

The park features a green building with Golden Certification of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), one of the most popular green building rating systems used worldwide. Designed with renewable energy technology, the building can save 308 metric tonnes of coal every heating season, which means that it can reduce the emission of carbon dioxide to 719 metric tonnes.
