Hohhot to advance construction of regional center
Since August, a series of building plans have been released and implemented to promote the construction of Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region as a regional center.
The imbalance in development between the eastern and western urban areas of the city always brings up challenges in urban construction.
In a bid to continuously meet the growing needs of the residents, improve the western area's convenience and urbanize the city, the city formulated construction plans for public facilities like botanical gardens, worker's palace, aquarium, water park, ice rink, and a skiing rink.
In addition, Metro Lines 1 and 2 have undergone checks and were approved for operation, and the subway line from Inner Mongolia Gymnasium Station to Genghis Khan Square Station of Metro Line 2 has been smoothly connected.
"Hohhot's urban construction is continuing to advance, in recent years, with the goal of building a modern regional center, our city has further strengthened infrastructure, upgraded the level of urban management, improved urban functions, and upgraded the quality of the city," said Feng Yuzhen, mayor of Hohhot.
Furthermore, comprehensive improvement of urban environment, construction of public lavatories and expressways, connection of video surveillance network system, river improvement projects and many other related projects were finished or will be finished soon, ensuring the transformation of the city into a regional center.
