Chinese dairy giant Yili Group signed a dairy products safety agreement with the Chinese Institute of Food Science and Technology (CIFST) at the 2018 International Forum on Food Safety and Health in Beijing, on April 20.

The agreement between Yili and CIFST will see cooperation to ensure safety standards are met in dairy foods, and collaboration to establish a platform to conduct further research in the field.

The forum attracted some 90 experts from over 20 countries, including United Kingdom, United States and Canada, as well as hundreds of food firms’ representatives. They exchanged views on food safety, nutrition and health, providing suggestions for the development of food safety standards and nutritious foods in China.

Chen Fuquan, vice-president of Yili Group, delivered a speech at the forum. Through statistics, he introduced and analyzed the development of the Chinese dairy industry over the last decade.

Chen said that Yili's strong sales performance reflected that the company's industrial scale and the quality of dairy products have improved greatly over the past decade, winning the trust and loyalty of customers.

Yili ranked eighth in the Rabobank Global Dairy Top 20 list for 2017, which ranks global dairy companies in terms of their turnover.
