Oceania Dairy Ltd (ODL) was confirmed as a participant in the China International Import Expo, according to a contract it signed with the organizers April 28.

The expo is expected to take place in November in Shanghai, as an effort to further open the Chinese market to the world and better implement the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

ODL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co Ltd, China's biggest dairy producer. The group has responded to the BRI and kept promoting international communication and cooperation in the dairy industry.

Yili Group established a resources, innovation and market network covering areas with developed dairy industries in Asia, Europe, the Americas and Oceania. It set up a research and development (R&D) center in Europe and carried out the Sino-US Food Wisdom Valley project, which was designed to encourage innovation and cooperation in the agricultural and food sectors.

The Yili Oceania Production Base was also established in New Zealand. With an investment of 3 billion yuan ($453 million), the base operates in R&D, production, deep processing and packaging, and is developing into a model project to carry out the BRI.

To make better use of the opportunities brought about by the BRI, ODL strove to produce products of excellent quality based on its advanced technologies and the resources in New Zealand.

Yili Group will further take part in the implementation of the BRI by improving its global structure and building an international dairy image.
