Hohhot marathon to commence on July 8

The 2018 Hohhot Marathon will be held on July 8 in the capital city of Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a press release in Beijing on June 6.
Operated by the regional sports bureau, Hohhot municipal government and People’s Daily, the grand event joins the “Healthy China” marathon series promoting marathon among the Chinese people.
This year’s Hohhot marathon is expected to attract some 13,000 participants capable of running a full marathon, mini marathon or 10 kilometers race.
Hohhot boasts a history of 400 years, featuring Inner Mongolian style scenic spots with an average temperature in July between 16 C and 28 C. Runners can then enjoy the city’s charm along the marathon course that starts from Inner Mongolia International Exhibition Center through Inner Mongolia Museum, Hohhot government hall and Chile Prairie Avenue.
During the press release, the Hohhot government and People's Daily also reached a strategic cooperation agreement for further cooperation in more sectors including culture, sports and tourism.
Wang Xuefeng, director of Hohhot publicity department gave high praises for mutual cooperation and said that Hohhot would advertise more city brands like the Zhaojun Cultural Festival to the world through the People's Daily platform.
