Saihan district speeds up development of modern service industry

Saihan district in Hohhot has accelerated the development of its modern service industry in recent years.

Kaiyuan Plaza is one of the major projects of the modern service industry at Saihan district in Hohhot.

“With an investment of 960 million yuan ($149 million), the plaza is a comprehensive area integrating catering, entertainment and shopping, facilitating a large number of residents around the area,” said a staff at the development and reform department of Saihan district.

According to statistics, the added value of the service sector of Saihan district reached 49.8 billion yuan in 2017, 1.6 times of the figure in 2012.

Emerging service industries like logistics and e-commerce have developed rapidly. The local government established the Jinqiao E-Commerce Industrial Park in 2016. To date, more than 240 enterprises have settled in the park, with annual sales reaching one billion yuan.

In 2017, the Shalianggongtie Logistics Park and Lifeng Park were put into use, laying a solid foundation for the development of logistics industry in the district.

The local government also increased its investments in catering and entertainment. It established shopping centers like City Mall, and two more city complexes. It also introduced Carrefour, making it the first foreign supermarket in Inner Mongolia.
