Hohhot Municipal People's Congress, the legislative body of the city, concluded its annual session on Jan 11.

The meeting approved the government work report, the work report of the Standing Committee of Hohhot Municipal People's Congress, the work report of the people's procuratorate of Hohhot, and the work report of the people's court of Hohhot.

Other documents approved during the session included the implementation of the 2017 national economic and social development plan, the implementation of the 2017 local budget and the 2018 annual budget.

Yun Jiandong, head of the Standing Committee of Hohhot Municipal People's Congress, Feng Yuzhen, mayor of Hohhot, and other leaders from the municipal government attended the closing meeting.

In his closing remarks, Feng Yuzhen, called for maintaining a high degree of consistency with the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in thoughts, politics and actions.

He stressed that the government would make every effort to make the city a better place.

Yun Jiandong concluded that a total of 535 proposals had been submitted to the municipal people's congress, and that the government would attach great importance to responding to these proposals after the meeting.

The meeting elected new leaders of the municipal government, Yun said, emphasizing that the new government will always bear the people's wishes in mind, perform its duties effectively, and make new contributions to the development of the city.
