Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co Ltd was granted a Golden Tripod Award at the Third China Food Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Conference and Entrepreneurship Forum in Beijing, Dec 9, 2017.

The event, the only one of its kind in the food industry, was well accepted by governmental and industrial authorities. It was initiated by China National Light Industry Council, China Food Association, China Funder of Customer Protection and China Food News Office.

Yili Group, China's biggest dairy producer, has won the award for three consecutive years, clearly demonstrating its efforts in undertaking social responsibility.

The group has been committed to shouldering social responsibilities in the fields of children's growth, environmental protection, cultural development and disaster emergencies. It set up China's first Health China Social Responsibility System in 2017, and then drafted the first emergency plan for social responsibility and released the first corporate citizenship report.

In 2017, Yili developed a "sharing, healthy and sustainable development system" in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030, in an effort to promote sustainable development in the fields of "mutual win of industry chain", quality and innovation, public welfare and, nutrition and health.

To help partners deal with financing difficulties, Yili invested 11.8 billion yuan ($1.74 billion) to help 2,600 partners along the industry chain.

In terms of public welfare, Yili kept a watchful eye on "youth, environment and community" and invested 800 million yuan into that field. It implemented the Yili Nutrition 2020 project to improve children's health and the Yili Ark project to protect their safety.

The group also made efforts to protect ecology and carried out a wetland protection project in Northeast China in cooperation with the World Wide Fund for Nature. It attended the Convention on Biological Diversity in Cancun, Mexico, in 2016, and became the first Chinese enterprise to sign the Enterprise and Biodiversity Undertaking.

Yili will continue to take on more social responsibilities to better carry out its "world integrally sharing health" project in line with United Nations SDGs.
