Major projects built in Hohhot

2017-02-15

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and the capital, Hohhot, is celebrating with a series of major projects.

In recent years, Hohhot has built or begun construction of several important buildings, such as the Inner Mongolia Cultural and Sports Center for Ethnic Minorities, the Children’s Exploration Museum, the Hohhot Zhaojun Culture Tourism Zone and demonstration apartments for the elderly.

These buildings not only benefit the sports and culture industries, but also improve people’s daily lives. Local residents can participate in more colorful sports activities, and can also enjoy the many advances made during the process of reform and opening-up.

As the main venue for the celebration ceremony, the sports center for ethnic minorities will be completed in May. It will eventually be developed into a tourist spot to showcase ethnic culture.

The Hohhot Swimming Center will also be put into use this year. It will be able to hold international-standard swimming competitions.
