Li Jiexiang, mayor of Hohhot, spoke highly of the government work report presented by Bu Xiaolin, chairwoman of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region at the sixth session of the 12th Inner Mongolia People's Congress.
"Bu's report has fully implemented the new strategy of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in governing the region, and also reflected the spirit of the Municipal Party Congress held by the CPC committee of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region," Li said on Jan 14, 2017, at a panel discussion of the government work report.
Li expressed his view that the report summarized the work that the Inner Mongolia government has done in the past year, and also satisfies people's growing material and cultural needs.
"The summary of the achievements that the government has made are objective and the plans and measures to be carried out are based on realities," Li said.
Meanwhile, the Party chief of Hohhot has proposed the key work that the government will do during 2017.
He urged government at all levels to integrate more into the Belt and Road Initiative and promote the opening-up of Horinger New District.
"The industrial sales revenue in Hohhot will reach more than 200 billion yuan ($29.1 billion) within three years and reach more than 400 billion yuan within five years," Li said.
He encouraged building Horinger New District into a new economic growth engine for the city.
The Horinger New District is a national-level district, approved by Inner Mongolia autonomous region at the end of last year.
