Model City Loving Army and Civilians 

Hohhot covers a total area of 17,200 square kilometers and governs four districts, four counties, and has a national economic and technological development zone. It is the political, economic, cultural, financial and military heartland of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region. 

It has won awards for being a national model city seven consecutive times since 1992.

Dairy City

Hohhot was rated as a nationwide dairy city by the China Light Industry Federation and the China Dairy Industry Association in August 2005. The two dominant dairy brands, Mengniu Dairy Group and Yili Dairy Corporation Group, are all headquartered in the city. They have greatly boosted the local and national dairy industries.
