Inner Mongolia Zhonghuan Solar Materials Co Ltd was established by Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor Co Ltd (holding 80 percent of the shares) and Shanghai Aerospace Automobile Electromechanical Co Ltd (holding 20 percent) in 2009. It is committed to green renewable energy solar cell mono-crystalline silicon materials industrialization projects.

It was named a high-tech enterprise in 2011 and a provincial R&D center in 2012. It was listed as a manufacturing industrial informatization model of the 12th Five-Year Plan and a pilot in intellectual property in the same year. 

Zhonghuan Semiconductor Corporation started to invest in the monocrystalline silicon solar cell industrialization project in Hohhot in 2009. Its annual output was 5,163 tons in 2013. To date, it has invested 4.3 billion yuan and its assets are valued at 6.6 billion yuan. It is currently a world-leading solar monocrystalline supplier with the best product quality and largest volumes of production and sales.
