A brain-inspired intelligence technology research platform, developed by the China Speech Valley in Hefei city, East China's Anhui province, is planning to get upgraded, local media reported on Dec 17.
The upgrade will focus on enhancing calculation capacity, creating an open community, cultivating top-tier artificial intelligence (AI) professionals, and inspiring more AI innovations.
Brain-inspired intelligence can reveal ways of information processing in the human brain, which is conducive to completing AI systems and promoting industry development.
Initiated this July, the platform is based upon a high performance computing cluster and has a mass-labeled database as its backup. It can elevate local scientific research strength and serves as an important way to develop AI technology. It will also boost the transformation and upgrading of industries and inspire more AI innovations.
"The platform now boasts 160 algorithms, of which 50 are examples of the most cutting-edge AI technologies, providing developers with integrated services," said Liu Haifeng, head of the Hefei Zhongke Leinao Co, a local brain-inspired intelligence technology firm.
"We hope our technology can help more creative ideas transfer into tangible results and engage more people in the development and application of AI technologies," Liu added.
The platform has gained solid technological support from the National Engineering Laboratory for Brain-inspired Intelligence Technology and Application, Microsoft Research Asia, China Speech Valley, and Hefei Zhongke Leinao Co.
