Hechi to build 20 town-level sewage treatment plants

Hechi in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region plans to build 20 town-level sewage treatment plants this year, according to local municipal administration bureau.

Last year, the city completed construction and began operation of 10 such sewage treatment plants, investing in a total of 189 million yuan (about $29 million) to reach a daily sewage treatment capacity of 17,000 tons.

The Hechi town sewage treatment plant in Jinchengjiang district had 9.97 million yuan invested in it, and is now able to dispose 500 tons of sewage every day using a seven-kilometer pipe network. The 8.45 million yuan Siba town treatment plant in Luocheng Mulao autonomous county can dispose of the same amount of sewage daily using a pipe network of 3.4 kilometers.

The 20 planned treatment plants this year are all currently in progress. Three have completed preliminary work, another three have finished part of the preliminary work, and the remaining 14 projects have received approval.

The Hechi government is aiming to strengthen project promotion and attract investment to guarantee the completion of the treatment plants on schedule.
