Training goals

This major introduces and integrates the curriculum system, faculty team and teaching resources of Arizona State University’s Tourism Development and Management program. It aims to cultivate national defense specialized composite talents with international concepts and perspectives, who are also familiar with international operations and the management rules of tourism and hospitality, as well as possess independent innovation capabilities.

Prospects

This discipline allows students to have a deep understanding of the current developments in domestic and international chain-branded hotels, resorts and other relevant tourism sectors, and possess the ability to make related comprehensive analyses and judgments. Equipped with the above skills, graduates can work in management at the headquarters of international hotel groups, high-end hotels or resorts.

Familiarity with the operating rules of all departments in international chain-branded hotels, and competence in developing and expanding product lines by integrating knowledge acquired will help students work in management, planning and product development at high-end service providers, including cruise lines, airlines, spa clubs and golf clubs.

With a grasp of intercultural communication and English proficiency, students are capable of undertaking public relation affairs and brand promotion in international tourism groups, tourism-related governmental departments at all levels, relevant industry associations at home and abroad, international tourism organizations and public institutions and enterprises. 

Graduates in the above discipline can pursue further education with considerable research capability.
