The Hainan provincial trials of this year’s National E-commerce Sanchuang (Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship) Challenge for College Students opened at Hainan University (HNU) on May 13.

Undertaken by the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College (HAITC), the tryouts brought together more than 400 teachers and students in 78 teams from 13 universities across Hainan.

Three special awards, six first-prize awards, 12 second-prize awards, 18 third-prize awards and nine individual awards were presented.

As one of the most influential competitions for college students nationwide, the e-commerce challenge ranks 13th among 57 national events of its kind.

The final contest is scheduled to be held at the China University of Mining and Technology in July.
