HAITC Psychological Center

Updated: Aug 2, 2022

The Psychological Center of the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College of Hainan University (HAITC) is a college-level organization with functions of theoretical research, psychological counseling and psychotherapy. It provides students with appointments for psychological counseling and talks with the dean and the Party secretary of the CPC HAITC committee. With a serious and responsible attitude, the center values students’ mental health and strives to create a spiritual harbor for HAITCers.

The center consists of a new media department, a general management department and a counseling and training department. The new media department prepares articles to publicize campus activities, designs posters, roll-up banners and display boards, and takes photos for various events. The general management department draws up plans, purchases materials, makes reimbursements and rents venues for different events. The counseling and training department makes appointments with counselors for students, coordinates the details of the reception day events, communicates with mental health committee members of all grades, and files documents and prepares forms.

Special activities at the center include the reception day events, psychological counseling, mental health lectures, and Teacher's Day celebrations.

The reception day events with the dean and the Party secretary of the CPC HAITC committee provide communication opportunities for heads of the college and its students, through which they can exchange views on postgraduate entrance examinations, employment, and interpersonal relationships. Students are also able to share their experience at HAITC.

The psychological counseling activities help make appointments with Professor Yue Xiaowen and her professional counseling team. The activities allow students to find the crux of their difficulties through heart-to-heart talks, and seek countermeasures to overcome them. The activities aim to help HAITCers restore psychological balance and improve physical and mental health.

The mental health lectures are held annually for freshmen, providing great help for them as they adapt to the new life and get familiar with other students.

During the Teacher's Day celebrations the HAITC Psychological Center collects greeting cards made by students, and delivers flowers, customized keychains and cards to thank teachers for their hard work.
