HAITC hosts "first lesson" at the beginning of term

On Sept 13, the HNU-ASU Joint International Tourism College, Hainan University (HAITC) held its "first lesson" at the beginning of the term. 

Wang Lin, dean of the HAITC, He Yingmin, secretary of its CPC General Branch Committee, Li Meizhen, vice dean of the college, Fu Tao, counselor of deputy director-level of the college and leaders of other departments attended the activity. 

Wang delivered a speech in which she emphasized the orientation and goal of the college and its "Tourism+" training model. She took Luo Qingming, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of HNU, as an example to encourage students to study hard and persistently and to remain dedicated to scientific research. 

She introduced the basic information of the college and Arizona State University, urging that the university experience is a self-growth process. Students should pay attention to acquiring basic knowledge and learn to communicate and have strict self-discipline in order to adapt to university life as soon as possible. She also told students to respect life and enhance security awareness to be sure of enjoying a safe and fulfilling campus life.

He Yingmin introduced the achievements of the college and shared stories about China's fight against COVID-19, calling on all students to learn from heroes such as Zhong Nanshan, Zhang Boli, Zhang Dingyu and Chen Wei. 

Li explained the arrangement of English language teaching to students and encouraged them to actively participate in contests of speech, reading and writing to improve their English proficiency.
