Updated: 2021-12-20

The 3rd International Young Scholars Forum and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) Scholars Meeting was held at the International Academic Exchange Center of Hainan University (HNU) on Dec 17, with nearly 600 young international scholars attending.

The forum, whose aim is to build a platform for academic exchange and help international scholars learn more about Hainan and HNU, has set up seven sub-forums:

-Free Trade Port Development and System Innovation

-Ecological Civilization

-Cultural Tourism

-Efficient Tropical Agriculture

-Marine Technology

-One Health

-Information Technology

Tian Lulu, deputy secretary general of CSC, expressed her hope in the forum that the government-sponsored overseas education program would bring together more experts and scholars to contribute to the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP).

Luo Qingming, president of HNU and academician in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a report titled "HNU on the Move," exclaiming that young scholars are always welcomed by HNU.

In recent years, HNU has been committed to building a talent pool with Hainan characteristics and reflecting on the comparative advantages of the FTP's international competitiveness. It will further deepen the system's reform, smooth out the promotion channels, and improve the salary guarantee mechanism in the future to create a healthy environment for talent growth.
