HNU updates evaluation mechanism for teacher titles

Hainan University (HNU) recently divided teachers into four categories based on their job requirements, namely teaching and research, teaching-oriented, research-oriented, and achievement transformation (or social service). The evaluation standards for professional titles have been revised according to the aforementioned categories.

HNU emphasizes the professional ethics of teachers in its talent evaluation, constantly works to improve the integrity system for talent evaluation, and has established a record and punishment system for dishonesty.

Meanwhile, HNU entrusts the Science and Technology Development Center of the Ministry of Education to conduct a third-party evaluation, selects peer experts according to subject areas and research topics, and uses blind reviews to evaluate the achievements and professional skills of participants, thus evaluating the performance level and actual contribution of teachers from many different perspectives such as teaching, scientific research, and technology.

Staff at the university's personnel department stated that the new professional title evaluation system emphasizes performance level, teaching ability, innovation results and actual contributions of teachers.

HNU will seize the opportunity of Hainan Free Trade Port's talent introduction policy and continuously improve the professional title evaluation system for teachers, in order to promote the high-quality development of HNU and "double first-class" construction.
