Recently, Hainan University (HNU) held a delivery ceremony for the State Key Laboratory of Tropical Crops' central building project. 

Located on the Haidian campus of HNU, the project includes a new laboratory building with eight floors above ground and one floor underground. The total construction area is 15,000 square meters, which will include laboratories, mid-term warehouses, vitro storage warehouses, equipment rooms, underground parking lots, and supporting outdoor projects such as water supply and drainage, electricity, road hardening, and greening.

The project was established as a provincial key project in 2020 and has attracted a lot of attention. Since the start of the project on July 13, 2020, the main construction team has overcome difficulties such as managing a tight schedule and heavy tasks, and has cooperated with all participating construction teams to complete the construction tasks with high-quality workmanship by the contract deadline.

The delivery of the project will improve the teaching and scientific research conditions on Haidian campus, and boost HNU to create a world-class discipline.
