Professor Ma Bin from Hainan University (HNU) has been listed as one of the "World's Top 2 percent Scientists 2020" based on his impact factor (the number of times an academic's work is cited) in the environment science sector, according to a list recently published by Stanford University.

A researcher and doctoral supervisor at HNU's College of Ecology and Environment, Ma specializes in the research and application of low-carbon and low-energy urban sewage treatment and recycling technologies. The World's Top 2 percent Scientists 2020 list was released by a team led by Stanford Professor John P A Ioannidis, and Mendeley Data. The entries were selected from nearly 7 million candidates engaged in 176 sub-disciplines across 22 areas.
