Hainan University currently has 90 undergraduate programs with nearly 9,000 students in 31 provinces (cities, districts) in China enrolled each year, including arts programs and high-level sports teams (soccer, basketball, volleyball, athletics). Among the 90 undergraduate programs, 34 are divided into 13 major categories. Students select their programs according to their choices, within one and a half to two and a half years (depending on the program) after enrollment. 

In 2019, Hainan University added three undergraduate programs: Intelligent Science and Technology, Data Science and Big Data Technology, and Leisure Sports.
