The full capping of the main structure of West China Lecheng Hospital of Sichuan University provides a frontier medical benchmark for the integration of medical teaching and research in Hainan Free Trade Port!

On December 30, 2021, the West China Lecheng Hospital of Sichuan University project ushered in a new milestone-the full capping of the main structure, which marked another step towards the full completion and delivery of the project of West China Lecheng Hospital of Sichuan University. This project is a key frontier medical teaching and research integration project in Hainan Free Trade Port jointly built by Sichuan University, Hainan Holding, Lecheng Pilot Zone Administration and undertaken by China Construction First Group Corporation Limited, with a total floor area of 66,388㎡, which is expected to be completed and put into use by the end of 2022.

West China Lecheng Hospital of Sichuan University will, after the completion of its construction, relying on the high-level and high-quality resources and innovative advantages of Sichuan University and affiliated West China hospitals, give full play to the policy advantages of Hainan Free Trade Port and the pilot policy advantages of Lecheng Pilot Zone to build a regional frontier medical highland and a difficult and severe disease diagnosis and treatment center, and build a first-class comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research in China to provide better medical services for patients at home and abroad.

Zhang Wei, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Sichuan University, said that in January this year, with the strong concern and support of the leadership of Hainan Provincial Party Committee and provincial government and the active promotion of all parties, West China Lecheng Hospital officially opened the construction curtain. After 11 months of intense construction, the main structure of West China Lecheng Hospital is officially capped today, which is an important milestone for the cooperation between the university and local enterprise. "In the process of construction, Sichuan University will fully cooperate and strengthen communication, jointly build and run West China Lecheng Hospital, strive to cultivate first-class medical talents, make first-class innovations and provide first-class medical services, realize the integrated development of medical, teaching and research, and contribute to the construction of a high-level free trade port with world influence in Hainan.”

Entrusted by Gu Gang, Party Secretary and Director of Lecheng Pilot Zone Administration, Lyu Xiaolei, Party Member and Executive Deputy Director of Lecheng Pilot Zone Administration, expressed congratulations to the full capping of the main structure of West China Lecheng Hospital. She pointed out that in recent years, preferential policies have injected a strong impetus into the reform and development of Lecheng Pilot Zone, where the public and private high-quality medical resources have accelerated to gather, and the Pilot Zone has form a situation that institutions in the Zone develop in a differentiated and integrated manner under the support and guidance of public institutions. “We are very grateful to Sichuan University and West China Hospital for their support to the reform and development of Lecheng, and also to Hainan Holdings, China Construction First Group Corporation Limited and other units. Yang Jun, member of the Party Committee of Hainan Holding and Vice General Manager, said that West China Lecheng Hospital would introduced 15 top diagnosis and treatment centers from West China School of Medicine of Sichuan University, which was a milestone project of Hainan Holding deployed the big health field in combination with the development policy of Hainan Free Trade Port and the company's development plan. Since the commencement of the project, with the strong support of Hainan Development and Reform Commission, the Health commission of Hainan Province, Hainan Medical Products Administration and other relevant authorities, Hainan Holdings co-ordinates all the participants to define responsibilities, urges all parties to catch up with each other, scientifically prepares construction schedule, promote the construction in an orderly manner, and ensures the safety, quality and progress effectively, resulting in the achievement of the goal of capping the main structure of the project at high standards. Hainan Holdings will thoroughly implement the work arrangements made by Hainan Party Committee and government, and push forward the subsequent construction of the project with a high sense of responsibility and mission at high quality and high standards. At the same time, Hainan Holdings will cooperate with Sichuan University, four affiliated West China hospitals and Lecheng Pilot Zone Administration to make all preparations before the formal operation, and strive to make the project put into operation smoothly by the end of December 2022.
