Dai Hui is engaged in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic routine and minimally invasive surgery and abdominal tumors, especially in the gallbladder/biliary system diseases, benign and malignant liver tumors, pancreatic diseases, gastrointestinal tumors and liver transplants.

Work Experience:

Dai Hui served as Resident, Teaching Assistant, Attending Doctor, and Lecturer in Hepatobiliary Surgery at Xijing Hospital of the Fourth Military Medical University from 1995 to 2004.

He went to the United States in 2004 and conducted clinical and basic research for a long time at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, the Surgery Department of the Mount Sinai Medical Center, the Pediatric Surgery and Nanomedicine Medical Research Center of the Detroit Clinical Research Center, and the Surgery Department of the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.    

In 2011, Dai served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery of the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and received a doctorate in clinical medicine. He has been engaged in general surgery clinical and scientific research for 20 years, mainly in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery and abdominal tumors, and especially in gallbladder/biliary system diseases, benign and malignant liver tumors, pancreatic diseases, gastrointestinal tumors and liver transplants. In 1997, he participated in the first living liver transplant in China.

Dai has participated in a number of funded research projects of the United States National Institutes of Health, and published more than 30 medical papers in SCI journals, of which the highest impact factor is 15.863. He is a special reviewer of more than ten international journals, generating a highest impact factor of 8.6. In addition, Dai has two patents, one of them international. He has won the Outstanding Paper Award of the American Gene Therapy Conference, the Outstanding Postdoctoral Thesis Award of the Detroit Medical Research Center, the second prize of the China National General Surgery Young Doctor Outstanding Paper Award, and other international and domestic awards. He has also made more than 10 speeches at international academic conferences and published over 20 conference abstracts. He is a full-time member of the American Society of Gene Therapy (ASGT), the American Heart Association (AHA), the Society for Neuroscience (SFN), and Sigma Xi (The Scientific Research Society).
