Zhang Daning is a traditional Chinese medicine master, a research fellow of the Central Research Institute of Culture and History, an academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences, and a founder of nephrology in traditional Chinese medicine. He served as a member of the 7th and 8th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), a member of the Standing Committee of the 9th, 10th and11th CPPCC National Committees, Deputy Director of the Education, Culture, Sports and Health Committee of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, Vice-Chairmen of the 12th, 13th, 14th Central Committee of the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, and Vice-Chairman of the 12th CPPCC Tianjin Committee. Zhang is currently the Honorary President of the Tianjin Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, President of China Research Association for Promotion of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Honorary Chairman of the National Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Nephrology.
