Vision China 2021 was held at the Hainan International Conventional and Exhibition Center in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, from July 15 to 18, casting eyes on the innovative development of ophthalmology.

The event, which is an annual treat for ophthalmologists, is also a big platform for attendees to discuss the latest technologies, trends and ideas in ophthalmology. Nearly 5,000 participants attended this year's event, including 373 experts and scholars from 12 countries and regions.

A number of 112 outstanding companies, which manage 11 sectors, such as medicine, facilities, consumable items, information, network and big data, also attended the event.

Gu Gang, director of the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration, attended the event and further promoted Lecheng to attendees.

Gu said that Lecheng is the only specialized medical zone in China and is a demonstration area for innovative reform and licensed applications in medicine and big health. Patients now can find new medicines and facilities in Lecheng, which haven't entered the Chinese market, including two ophthalmology medicines and one ophthalmology facility.

"Ophthalmology is the most well-developed sector in Lecheng," Gu said.

He added that Lecheng is not only home to the best pharmaceutical companies around the world, but also welcomes domestic pharmaceutical companies to showcase themselves in Lecheng.
