A delegation from Lundbeck, a Denmark-based pharmaceutical company specializing in brain diseases, visited the Hainan Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone on July 7.

The delegation was led by Lorena Di Carlo, senior vice president and managing director of Lundbeck China, and Lone Bjerge Brandborg, vice president of China Drug Development at Lundbeck.

They toured local areas such as the "Ever Lasting" International Innovation Medicine Exhibition and Boao Super Hospital to learn more about Lecheng's preferential policies in areas such as the licensed operation of advanced medicines and facilities, approval procedures and the demonstrative application of real-world data.

Liu Zhefeng, deputy head of the Boao Lecheng International Medical Tourism Pilot Zone Administration, extended a welcome to the delegation and introduced Lecheng's current development situation during a seminar.

A seminar is held during the delegation's visit in Lecheng.

Liu noted that the preferential policies in Lecheng have led to cooperation with many transnational pharmaceutical companies and internationally esteemed medical institutions, making the area a hub for global innovation and entrepreneurship.

He expressed his hope that more brain disease medicines made by Lundbeck can be applied in Lecheng.

Lorena Di Carlo spoke highly of Lecheng's beauty and orderliness, and said that Lecheng has unique advantages in terms of policy support and the local business environment.

A consensus was achieved during the seminar that more exchange and communication will be made in the future between Lecheng and Lundbeck to expand cooperation in areas such as neurosciences and the application of innovative medicines and facilities.

Lundbeck, established in 1915 and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, has been carrying out professional research in the neurosciences for more than 70 years. It has developed a complete medical value chain including research, development, production and market promotion.
