Liu Zhikun is Vice Chairman of Liaoning Provincial Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of the Liaoning Provincial Surgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of Liaoning Provincial Oncology Branch of Chinese Medical Association, a Judge of the Liaoning Provincial Evaluation Committee of Health Senior Professional Titles, and a member of the Medical Accident Appraisal Committee of Dandong City, Liaoning Province.

Liu graduated from the Medical Department of China Medical University in 1982 and served as Director of General Surgery at Dandong Central Hospital, Dandong City, Liaoning Province from 1994 to 2015. He was promoted as chief physician in 1999. His General Surgery team has been diagnosing and treating difficult and serious diseases in the general surgery and tumor surgery in Dandong, and conducting rescue treatment of compound trauma.

He was named "Advanced Worker" for years, and has been honored with the title of "Top Ten Residents of Dandong City" and was commended by the Dandong Municipal Government for his contributions in the fight against SARS.

Based on his years of clinical work experience, he has published more than 20 papers, and participated in international and domestic professional academic conferences. His papers were published in the Chinese Journal of General Surgery and Chinese Journal of Coloproctology. Since 2019, Liu has been serving as Chief Physician of the Department of Surgery at the Neology Anti-aging Medical Institution, Hainan Province.
